Outfit: Vogue 1179
Activities: Feeding DD1’s sleepover buddies breakfast, dance class run, birthday cupcake pickup for DD3’s party this afternoon, and trying to decide whether to have her party at home or in the park as originally planned.
Thoughts: This dress is super comfortable. I don’t think it’s particularly flattering on someone that requires an FBA on garments generally, as it hangs straight from the shoulders and neckline. There’s no shaping through the waist, so it can look a little like a pleated sack with a cowl collar. I didn’t bother doing an FBA on this because it’s jersey and the pleats add about 15 inches of ease. (There are very wide (3 – 4 inches wide) pleats at the centre front.) The outer two do pull a bit across the bust line, however, which I will remedy the next time I make this dress, and yes, I’ve another one on my sewing list in a sage/grey feather print jersey. I really like the brick red colour, though.
Here’s the parting shot for the day. Our not-in-the-park-due-to-the-rain tea party birthday was invaded by ants after all…
Have a restful Sunday, and I’ll see you next week!
Those cupcakes are as cute as a bug…sorry, couldn’t resist. I like your Vogue dress, and have plans to make one also. I just have not found the perfect fabric in my stash yet. Love the red!
