I seem to be blogging all the winter stuff now that it’s spring. This is the big skirt from Burda’s October 2012 issue. DD1 wanted it made up in this gorgeous teal blue/grey plaid for her winter wardrobe.
Of course I was happy to oblige. Who doesn’t love a simple make?
And who doesn’t love a fabric hog of a skirt?
I think my favourite feature it the deep pleats on either side of the flat centre front panel, giving the illusion of an overskirt. The waistband is a simple petersham ribbon. It was a bit of a challenge fitting the yards of fabric into the waistline.Especially since I decided to add a lining cut as long and wide as the skirt instead of streamlining it down to reduce bulk.
Very stylish young lady indeed …. Like her mum.
Your daughter looks lovely! I like how she paired the skirt with those boots:)
Thanks! She was happy with the outfit. Y’know – teenage angst about styling is a PITA, especially 5 minutes before we need to get out the door!
Love the skirt, love the arrangement of the folds on the sides and back, love the fabric and love the smile of your daughter!
Great skirt! It’s evident your daughter loves it from the smile on her!!!
Right on trend! Very stylish…
I love this! I wish I were a ton smaller!
I love the skirt! I like how the fabric hangs on the back and the front pleats…Really pretty!
